Who We Are
Every year, a total of 1 million people die due to hospital infections.
40-60% of them are preventable.
Hand hygiene is key to tackling this problem, but so is surface hygiene.
So we decided to do something about it.
Diversey has been, and always will be, a pioneer and facilitator for life. We constantly deliver revolutionary cleaning and hygiene technologies that give customers across global sectors total confidence. Diversey employs approximately 9,000 people globally, and all of them are dedicated to our goal of providing smart, sustainable cleaning and hygiene solutions.
When we set about developing a solution for this particular problem, we saw that some great systems are on the market, but they all share one problem: they are generally tower systems with vertical UVC bulbs, which means they effectively only deliver only 38% of energy.
Our research into existing UVC disinfection systems also revealed more issues relating to cost, noise level, weight and lack of remote operation. We took all of this on board, and created the Galaxy MoonBeam™3, a revolutionary UV disinfection system that not only improves surface hygiene standards, but also does so in a way that’s effective for everyone.
The Galaxy MoonBeam™3 delivers powerful UV-C light to provide fast, on-demand broad area disinfection of high-touch surfaces in as little as 3 minutes - this is more than twice as fast as fogging. What’s more, the MoonBeam is also:
- Simple to Use (an operator can be trained in 5 just minutes)
- Cost-effective (lower than all other major UV systems) in terms of:
We didn’t stop there though, as our association with Daylight Medical also created the SKY 7Xi ultraviolet light disinfection system, a countertop device for hospitals and long-term care facilities to use when removing pathogens on mobile phones and tablets.
"So, I asked you to come here because we have a question. Exactly how is it that you created such an excellent device? How does it disinfect as well as a $100,000 machine?"
— Dr. Curtis Donskey, Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University
These acclaimed systems have won awards, being recognised at the Annual Patient Safety, Science and Technology Summit by the Patient Safety Movement Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on eliminating the 3 million preventable deaths in hospitals each year.
In 2016, the Top 10 Innovation category had over 100 applicants, and the MoonBeam and SKY 7Xi systems featured as top 10 finalists, which we were absolutely delighted about.
